Biography
Jorge Patiño is a contemporary sculptor who works primarily with wire — bronze, steel, and copper — transforming industrial materials into vessels of spiritual and emotional inquiry.
His work examines the relationship between material and meaning, between the rigid structure of wire and the fluidity of the forms it can assume. Drawing from his Colombian heritage and his training in classical sculpture, Patiño creates pieces that balance tension and grace. Each sculpture begins as a single continuous line of wire, coiled, woven, and shaped by hand into anatomies that seem to breathe. The open structure of his wire figures invites the viewer to complete the form with their own imagination, making each encounter with the work a unique dialogue. Patiño has exhibited throughout Latin America, Europe, and the United States. His works are held in private collections and galleries across the globe.
